Pedestrian Bridge Erection

Hay Creek Pedestrian Bridge in Hopewell Big Woods, Berks County, PA

Witman Engineers designed the cast-in-place reinforced concrete bridge abutments for the erection of a new pedestrian bridge in the Birdsboro area of Berks County, PA. The video above shows the bridge erection operations after the bridge abutments were constructed. The pedestrian bridge is a prefabricated steel truss bridge with a concrete deck.

Bridge Demolition

SR 152 (Limekiln Pike) Bridge over SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown Regional Rail Line in Montgomery County, PA

Witman Engineers developed the lifting scheme for Neshaminy Constructors, Inc. to pick and remove the existing beams from the bridge as part of the Stage 2 bridge demolition. This was a delicate operation as the video above shows removing the fascia beam and swinging over to the truck through overhead utility wires.

Land Development

Oak Grove Subdivision, Robeson Township, Berks County, PA

Lyons & Hohl Site Contractors have been working on site improvements to access the Oak Grove Subdivision which will provide 36 new homes. A new CONSPAN Arch-Culvert replaced the existing bridge that consisted of just a buried truck trailer.

Construction

Ardmore Transit Center

Neshaminy Constructors, Inc., contracted with constructing the Ardmore Transit Center for SEPTA has been drilling caissons for the overhead catenary structures with the help of Wagman Heavy Civil performing the drilling operations. Witman Engineers provided support with the design of temporary access stairs, temporary drill rig platforms and drilling inspections to verify the caisson depths reached the design bearing stratum.

Villanova University, Radnor Township, Delaware County, PA

Along with project team leader Neshaminy Constructors, we provided a Lift Plan, Temporary Work Platform designs, and a Temporary Conduit Support that housed Fiber Optic Cables, for the construction of a Pedestrian Bridge at Villanova University.
